Sometimes the Good Guys Win
Well, I can hardly believe it. The COLTS actually pulled it off and won the Super Bowl! I was able to watch the game here in Mexico, of course with Spanish commentators and no cool American commercials. I sat in my living room chair and held the rabbit ears, constantly adjusting them to the best picture possible. Sure made it hard to snack, but I managed. I ate mostly popcorn and some tostadas with hot sauce on them. I paid for them the next couple days with a nagging burning sensation in my stomach! I'm hoping my brother-in-law, a native Hoosier (a "Hoosier" is someone from Indiana), video taped the game so we can sit down and watch again together when we get home this summer. I'm sure Jeff won't mind watching it again!
I guess a case could be made for the Bears also being the good guys. After all they were the underdogs and got to the Super Bowl more by sheer determination than overwhelming talent. But the COLTS, and all-around good guy Peyton Manning, have been long overdue, ever since we lived in Indiana back in the 90's.
But enough sports talk. I promise to leave it alone, and get back to missionary life in Mexico... at least until March Madness! Somebody, PLEASE videotape the Final Four for me, especially if MI (me) or KY (my wife) are in it. They won't be showing it here, at least not by rabbit ears!
